PURPOSE

The main purpose of the Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical Special Interest Group (CAPSIG NSW) is to foster cosmetic and pharmaceutical microbiological technical advancements and training for Microbiologists working within the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, and related contract testing laboratories.

SCOPE

CAPSIG NSW is a special interest group affiliated with the Australian Society for Microbiology.  Its function, through a Committee, is to organise Seminars that disseminate technical information relevant to the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry.  These Seminars have a microbiological focus that is used to educate,  introduce regulatory and new technology updates, and to provide a forum to interested parties to further their professional development and networking with their peers.

Another area where CAPSIG (NSW’s) committee members are proactive is to assist with the development and mentoring of less experienced industry peers.  CAPSIG (NSW) endeavours to progress their microbiological knowledge and skills within the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry.  By creating such a platform, CAPSIG (NSW) hopes to nurture a community of members which will continue to support and promote, and be actively involved within this SIG group to ensure its longevity.
